Arjan Erkel (The Netherlands) is a cultural anthropologist, humanitarian and public speaker. As a former medical aid worker for Médicins sans Frontières, he was kidnapped in Dagestan in 2002 and held as a captive by armed groups for 607 days. Arjan uses his experiences as a former kidnapped person to inform and educate audiences and has provided a public voice for the countless victims of kidnapping and hostage takings.
As a subject matter expert with his specific victim centered approach, he is a most valuable member of the KRIM™ Programme Board.
